Our Local Content

Ball State Public Media aims to empower individuals of all ages and backgrounds to explore new ideas, gain knowledge, and broaden their understanding of the world. By leveraging the power of public media, we envision a more informed, connected, and enlightened society.

Guided by our Strategic Plan, our strategy for creating local content focuses on three pillars: Arts & Culture, Economic Development, and Regional Stories.

Arts & Culture
Ball State PBS will highlight the rich arts and culture of the region. This can include interviews with local artists and performers, documentaries, and coverage of local festivals, museums, cultural institutions, and events. By showcasing the unique artistic offerings of the area, Ball State PBS can help connect viewers to the local arts community and promote cultural understanding.

Economic Development
We will explore the economic development of the region, such as success stories of local businesses, interviews with entrepreneurs, and coverage of community development initiatives. By showcasing the growth and innovation happening in our region, Ball State PBS can help inspire viewers to get involved in local economic development efforts and promote the area as a great place to live and do business.

Regional Stories
Ball State PBS will focus on regional stories, such as the history of the area, notable landmarks, and local heroes. This can include interviews with historians, community leaders, and everyday citizens who have interesting stories to tell. By focusing on the unique characteristics of the region, Ball State PBS can help viewers feel more connected to their community and foster a sense of pride in their hometown.
